Copyright and Licensing Policy
The Global International Journal of Innovative Research (GIJIR) is committed to promoting the widest possible dissemination of scholarly knowledge while protecting the intellectual property rights of authors and ensuring responsible reuse of published content. This Copyright and Licensing Policy establishes the ownership of copyright, the licensing terms applicable to published articles, and the rights and responsibilities of authors, readers, and third parties.
All authors submitting manuscripts to GIJIR are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to this policy upon submission.
1. Copyright Ownership
Authors retain the copyright to their original scholarly work published in GIJIR.
By submitting and publishing their manuscript, authors grant GIJIR a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to:
publish and distribute the article;
reproduce the article in electronic and printed formats;
archive and preserve the published version;
include the article in indexing services and bibliographic databases;
promote the published work through academic communication channels.
Retention of copyright by authors does not affect the journal's right to publish, preserve, and disseminate the article as part of the official scholarly record.
The copyright holder shall be clearly identified in every published article.
2. Publication License
Unless otherwise specified, all articles published in GIJIR are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.
Under this license, users are permitted to:
read;
download;
copy;
distribute;
print;
share;
adapt;
remix;
transform;
build upon the published work for any lawful purpose, including commercial use,
provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the journal, and the source of publication.
Users must provide:
appropriate attribution;
a citation to the original publication;
an indication of any modifications made;
a reference to the applicable Creative Commons License.
No additional restrictions may be imposed that would legally limit the permissions granted under the license.
The applicable license shall be clearly displayed on the journal website and included in both the HTML and PDF versions of every published article.
3. Author Rights
Authors retain the right to:
use their published articles for teaching, research, and academic presentations;
distribute copies to colleagues and students;
include the article in theses or dissertations;
incorporate portions of the article into future scholarly works with appropriate citation;
deposit the published version in institutional or subject repositories;
share the published article through personal websites, institutional webpages, academic networking platforms, or professional profiles;
comply with funding agency open access requirements.
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that any reuse appropriately cites the official published version.
4. Third-Party Materials
Authors are solely responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any copyrighted material owned by third parties.
Such materials may include, but are not limited to:
figures;
photographs;
tables;
illustrations;
maps;
diagrams;
datasets;
multimedia content;
extended quotations.
Where permission is required, authors must obtain written authorization before submission and acknowledge the copyright holder within the manuscript.
Failure to obtain appropriate permissions may result in rejection of the manuscript or withdrawal of the published article.
5. Creative Commons License Requirements
Authors publishing under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License agree that others may:
reproduce the work;
distribute the work;
translate the work;
adapt the work;
create derivative works;
use the work for educational, research, or commercial purposes,
provided that:
proper attribution is given to the original author(s);
the original publication in GIJIR is acknowledged;
changes made to the original work are clearly indicated;
no implication of endorsement by the original author(s) or GIJIR is created.
Misrepresentation of authorship or misuse of published content remains prohibited.
6. Repository and Self-Archiving Policy
GIJIR supports responsible open access dissemination and encourages authors to maximize the visibility and impact of their published research.
Authors may deposit the following versions of their manuscripts in institutional, disciplinary, governmental, or funding agency repositories:
the submitted manuscript (preprint);
the accepted manuscript (Author Accepted Manuscript);
the final published Version of Record.
Authors may also share the published article through:
institutional repositories;
university websites;
personal academic webpages;
research repositories;
funding agency repositories;
scholarly networking services, where permitted by the platform's terms of use.
When depositing any version of the manuscript, authors should:
provide a complete bibliographic citation;
include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where available;
identify GIJIR as the original place of publication;
link to the official published version whenever possible.
Self-archiving is permitted immediately upon publication, and no embargo period applies unless otherwise required by specific publishing agreements.
7. Licensing Information in Published Articles
To ensure transparency and compliance with international publishing standards, every published article shall clearly display:
the copyright holder;
the applicable Creative Commons License;
the license logo or statement, where appropriate;
licensing information in both HTML and PDF formats;
citation information;
the official journal name;
publication details.
This information shall remain permanently associated with the published article.
8. Copyright Infringement
GIJIR respects intellectual property rights and expects all contributors to do the same.
Allegations of copyright infringement, unauthorized reproduction, or misuse of published materials shall be investigated promptly.
Where infringement is confirmed, the journal may take appropriate editorial action, including:
requesting correction;
removing infringing material where legally necessary;
publishing notices of correction;
retracting articles in serious cases;
notifying relevant institutions or copyright holders where appropriate.
9. Changes to Licensing Terms
The licensing terms applicable to an article are established at the time of publication.
Any subsequent changes to licensing arrangements shall only be made where legally permissible and with the agreement of the relevant parties.
Such changes shall be documented transparently to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
10. Policy Review
GIJIR periodically reviews its Copyright and Licensing Policy to ensure continued compliance with international best practices in scholarly publishing, open access principles, and evolving legal requirements.
Any revisions to this policy shall be published on the journal website and shall apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.
